CullBench Privacy Policy
How CullBench keeps photo processing local and handles the limited data involved in the website and optional diagnostics.
Effective: July 31, 2026
1. Photos and analysis stay on your Mac
CullBench reads only folders you choose. Photo previews, AI feature extraction, similar grouping, Pick, Rating, and export run on your Mac. We do not upload photos or analysis content to a CullBench server for culling.
- No originals, RAW files, HEIC files, thumbnails, or previews are uploaded.
- No filenames, paths, EXIF, GPS, camera serial numbers, or people information are uploaded.
- No AI embeddings, clustering inputs, analysis.json, review-state.json, or local cache are uploaded.
- CullBench never automatically deletes, moves, or modifies original photos.
2. Optional diagnostics
Crash reporting and anonymous usage analytics are off by default. A service uploads limited diagnostics only after you turn on its separate option in the first-run privacy disclosure or Settings > Privacy & Diagnostics. Either option can be turned off at any time.
- Diagnostics may include App/build version, macOS major version, CPU architecture, sanitized crash stacks, fixed event names, bucketed photo counts, and timings.
- Diagnostics never include photos, screenshots, filenames, paths, EXIF/GPS, people information, AI embeddings, email addresses, or free text.
3. App Store purchase and updates
CullBench is distributed only through the Mac App Store. Apple handles Apple Account data, payment, tax, purchase history, download, updates, and refund requests. CullBench does not receive or store full card details or payment credentials.
CullBench stores the local trial enrollment time, first successful analysis time, and last observed time in this Mac's Keychain only to calculate the 14-day trial and prevent clock rollback from extending it. The record contains no photo, filename, path, EXIF, AI vector, account, or payment data; it is neither synced through iCloud nor uploaded and may remain on this Mac after the App is reinstalled.
Apple may provide developers with aggregate sales and usage reports. Apple's policies and applicable terms govern how Apple handles App Store data.
4. Website and communications
cullbench.com is hosted by Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process IP address, request time, User-Agent, and security logs to provide HTTPS, prevent abuse, and operate the site. When you email Support, we process the address, message, and attachments you choose to provide only to respond and keep necessary support records.
Do not send identity documents, payment-card information, or sensitive photos unless they are strictly necessary. We review a file only when you voluntarily provide it for a clear support purpose.
5. Choices, retention, and contact
You control local analysis and review data and can clear or remove sessions from CullBench Settings. Optional diagnostics can be disabled at any time without affecting photo browsing, analysis, review, or export.
For questions about this policy or a request concerning information you previously sent to Support, contact support@cullbench.com. We respond as required by applicable law.
